Celebrating the International Women’s Day and Shivratri together on March 8, thousands of individuals in Rajasthan embarked on the journey to become 'Harit Ram Doots'. This is a programme under the banner of the Familial Forestry Ram Roonkh Abhiyan—a drive led by women and assisted by men in which the participants pledge with fruit plant saplings, symbolizing their dedication to sustainable living.
This transformative initiative unfolded in more than 500 villages of the desert districts of Rajasthan, a press release said. Prof Shyam Sunder Jyani, a recipient of the ‘Land For Life Award’ from the United Nations, is spearheading the campaign.
